Inter Milan are the new Serie A leaders. The northern Italians won 2-0 against Lazio Roma at the end of round 11 and took advantage of their rivals' slip-ups.
With Switzerland's Yann Sommer and Manuel Akanji in the starting eleven, Inter easily recorded their third win in a row, with the former Switzerland international goalkeeper keeping a clean sheet for the seventh time this season in all competitions. Lautaro Martinez (3) and Ange-Yoan Bonny (62) scored the goals.
The Champions League finalists of the previous season overtook city rivals AC Milan (2:2 in Parma) and champions Napoli (0:2 in Bologna) in the table and lead the table ahead of AS Roma, who won 2:0 against Udinese. The leading duo have a two-point lead over Milan and Napoli.
