When the stars of the Champions League are shining above the pitch, one player at Bayern Munich obviously feels particularly at home. Lennart Karl, who became the youngest German goalscorer in the top flight when he scored 4-0 against Brugge on matchday three in October. The 17-year-old, who is widely regarded as a child prodigy in Germany, was not only named in the starting eleven once again by coach Vincent Kompany on Tuesday in the sixth round, but Karl also played a decisive role in Bayern's fifth win in this current league phase.

Although the young winger had an early goal disallowed for offside (6th minute), Karl was able to celebrate just over an hour later. With his remarkable ball control, he presented the Portuguese defense with insurmountable challenges and scored from a seemingly acute angle.

It was the third goal in the Champions League for Karl, who naturally secured himself a place in the history books with this goal - as the youngest player ever to score three goals at the highest European level.

Karl's goal completed an impressive comeback by Munich, who turned a deficit into a lead within four minutes. They had fallen behind after 54 minutes following an own goal by Joshua Kimmich, who deflected a João Simões cross into his own goal.

However, the Portuguese could only dream of victory for around eleven minutes. Until they criminally left Serge Gnabry alone at a corner kick. It was not the only moment when Sporting were poorly sorted in set-piece situations. Jonathan Tah was also able to slot home effortlessly (77') and finally put paid to any hopes of the Portuguese side gaining a point.
