For the first time this season, Lukas Daschner was able to play from the start and was immediately decisive. In the 62nd minute, the 27-year-old midfielder made the difference in a match that was not always very intense. Daschner skillfully took a pass in the penalty area and scored from a turn to make it 2:1.
After missing the first few months of the season due to a cracked kneecap, Daschner, who was definitely transferred from Bochum in the summer, showed just how important he can be for the club from eastern Switzerland. The playmaker had already impressed at the weekend in the home win against Lausanne after coming on as an early substitute following the sending off of Lukas Görtler. Lugano had been leading 1-0 at the start of the month in their first home game against FC St. Gallen when the match was abandoned due to rain in the 48th minute.
