St. Gallen, who have not been as successful at home this season, managed to confirm their victory at the weekend in Thun. Enrico Maassen's team improved after the break and were also more efficient than in the first half.

As against Thun, Aliou Baldé was successful. The former Lausanne player scored in the 51st minute after Alessandro Vogt had made an excellent first pass before the break. A good quarter of an hour after the 1:1, captain Lukas Görtler made it 2:1 from a corner kick.

Diego Besio was then responsible for the emotional highlight of the evening. The 19-year-old scored in stoppage time and just twelve minutes after his Super League debut to make it 3-1. He followed in the footsteps of his father and older brother: Claudio Besio played and scored for FCSG in the early 1990s, while Alessio played 40 games for the club between 2021 and 2023 and also scored on his debut. Alessio needed 45 minutes to score his first goal for St. Gallen's 1st team back then.

St. Gallen, who still have a chance of going into the Christmas break as leaders, play their final game of the year at Grasshoppers on Sunday.
