Steve Guerdat has competed in the Nations Cup in Rome following his back operation and the resulting forced break. The Olympic champion finished in 7th place with the Swiss team.

Martin Fuchs (with L&L Lorde), Bryan Balsiger (Psg Starlight) and Géraldine Straumann (Long John Silver 3) competed alongside Guerdat. The duos of team manager Peter van der Waaij lost the chance of a top classification in the first round, whereupon Guerdat (Iashin Sitte) decided not to start in the recapitulation. Next Friday, the rider from Jura will compete at the CSIO in St. Gallen.
Victory in the Piazza di Siena went to the USA ahead of France and Italy.
