Captain Matej Stransky, who is on the Czech Republic's Olympic squad, turned the tide in the leader's favor in the middle third. After Denmark's Nicklas Jensen, also an Olympian, had equalized the score at 2:2, Stransky set up Valentin Nussbaumer's Davos goal to make it 3:2 seven minutes before the end in overtime.
The Lakers had no answer to that. Jensen scored a hat-trick, but it was only 3:4. After going without a point for the fourth game in a row, Rapperswil-Jona are in danger of losing their good starting position. The top 6 are now a distant memory, and even 8th place, which offers two chances in the play-in, is now in danger.
