Truls Möregardh remains the sensation of the Olympic table tennis tournament.
After beating Brazil's Hugo Calderano 4-2, the 22-year-old with the hexagonal bat has reached the final - the first Swede to do so since Jan-Ove Waldner in 2000.
"I'm still in shock," said Möregardh after his triumph. For the first time since 2008, there are no two Chinese players in the Olympic singles final. The 22-year-old, seeded 19th in Paris, will play China's Fan Zhendong, the tournament's No. 2, on Sunday. The top seeded Chinese player Wang Chuqin was defeated by Möregardh in the 2nd round.
