The Swiss women's 4x100 m relay team reached the Olympic final of the best eight at the Summer Games in Paris, just like three years ago in Tokyo.
The quartet of Salomé Kora, Sarah Atcho-Jaquier, Léonie Pointet and final runner Mujinga Kambundji finished third in the first preliminary heat to secure a direct ticket to the medal decider on Friday evening (7.30pm). In 42.38 seconds, the Swiss women achieved the sixth best time, the national record is 42.05.
The best time was set by the USA in 41.94. In Tokyo 2021, the Swiss sprint relay team (including Kambundji and Kora) finished a thankless fourth, missing out on the bronze medal by two tenths.
