At least one Swiss can react to the defeat in Levi, when Loïc Meillard was the best skier of the success-accustomed Swiss Ski Team in fourteenth place. Tanguy Nef showed a brilliant upper section and was even on course to take the lead by the halfway point of the race.
His starting position for the second run (start at 1.30 pm) is also very promising. Nef, who is chasing his first podium place in the World Cup, is in 2nd place at the same time as the Finnish surprise man Eduard Hallberg. The winner of Levi, Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, is already 73 hundredths behind in 11th place.
Switzerland's Loîc Meillard and Daniel Yule are even further back. World champion Meillard lost 1.08 seconds on the leader Lie McGrath and is only in 18th place after 30 riders. One position ahead of him, Yule was nine hundredths faster. However, the gap to the top ten is not large, and with a good second run a lot is possible.
