Tavasci far behind at biathlon premiere

Luca Tavasci finished his biathlon debut at the Paralympics in 17th place. The Grisons native, who had already competed in cross-country skiing at the 2018 and 2022 Paralympic Winter Games, was unable to keep up with the best in the 7.5-kilometre sprint. He ultimately finished third last.

Chinese athlete Cai Jiayun secured victory ahead of his compatriot Liu Xiaobin. Bronze went to the German Marco Maier.

Aron Fahrni 6th in the seeded run

The seeded runs were held in the snowboard cross on Saturday. Before these two runs, the athletes were allowed to take part in a training run, as the one on Friday had to be aborted following Fabrice von Grünigen's fall. Emmental's Aron Fahrni put in a solid performance in the two seeded runs and posted the sixth-fastest time. This gave him a good feeling: "I know which line I want to ski and what to expect." Von Grünigen missed the first snowboard competition due to a concussion he sustained in a fall on Friday. The round of 16 starts on Sunday at 11.00 am.
