Team New Zealand are off to a strong start in their America's Cup title defense.
On the first day of competition, the New Zealanders clearly won both races against challengers Britannia and lead the series to seven wins with a 2-0 lead.
In the first race of the day, the New Zealand yacht skippered by Peter Burling crossed the finish line 41 seconds ahead of the British, while in the second race the gap was 27 seconds.
Great Britain has never won the world's oldest sporting trophy, which they founded in 1851, and New Zealand is aiming for its third win in a row. The competition continues with the third and fourth regattas on Sunday.
