SC Bern fails once again at home, Zug slips deeper into the crisis, but Lausanne ends its losing streak. These are the facts about Friday's five National League games.

SC Bern has a lot of construction sites this season, but none is as big as the offensive impotence in the home arena. In the 1:4 loss against Lugano, the Bernese were well on their way to remaining without a goal for the third game in a row. Victor Ejdsell only ended a scoring drought of 187 minutes in the final phase. By then, however, it was already 0:4 and the third home defeat since the turn of the year could no longer be averted. In view of this blatant scoring drought, the two goals by Luca Fazzini and Connor Carrick in the first period were already a preliminary decision. Not even bottom-placed Ajoie have scored fewer goals at home than SC Bern.

Zug deep in the hole

Nothing is working for EVZ. What looked like an ideal game for a change of course turned into an embarrassment. Zug lost 4-2 to bottom-placed Ajoie for the second time this season - and not undeservedly so, despite taking an early lead. Julius Nättinen scored the winning goal to make it 3:2 one second before the end of the middle third, Anttoni Honka ensured the decision three minutes before the end in overtime. Champions League semi-finalists Zug are currently in free fall. After their seventh defeat in a row, the last win for young coach Michael Liniger's team dates back to before Christmas.

Brännström redeems Lausanne in overtime

Lausanne started the new year with a 7-0 win against Zug, but then suffered five defeats in a row. They avoided another one in Kloten thanks to a goal from the Swede Erik Brännström 94 seconds into overtime. Olympic skater Damien Riat had put the playoff finalists of the last two years in front for the first time at the start of the final period, but Tyler Morley equalized shortly afterwards to take Kloten into overtime. In the ninth extra shift this season, the Zurich Unterlanders left the ice as losers for the seventh time - another reason for their third-last place.

Servette loses for the first time this year

After seven wins in a row recently, Servette also lost for the first time this calendar year. Geneva lost 3-0 in Langnau, meaning the SCL Tigers are still unbeaten at home in 2026 and improved their chances of reaching the play-in for the last two play-off places. Swedish top scorer Andre Petersson scored early in the middle period to take the lead, Finnish defenseman Santtu Kinnunen increased the lead at the start of the final period, future SCB forward Dario Rohrbach made it 3: and Luca Boltshauser saved no fewer than 40 shots for his second shutout of the season.

Malgin keeps the ZSC Lions on course

Two goals from the outstanding international forward Denis Malgin and the Latvian Rudolfs Balcers, who secured the victory in overtime, ensured a 3:1 win for the ZSC Lions in Rapperswil-Jona. With their fifth win in a row, the champions of the last two years consolidated their place in the top 6, which entitles them to direct playoff qualification, in what has been a very mixed season so far. The gap to the seventh-placed Lakers is now seven points.
