The Atlanta Hawks, with Clint Capela still missing, lose to the New York Knicks 148-149 after overtime. The Washington Wizards with Kyshawn George also lost in overtime.
Atlanta failed to reward itself for its strong comeback at Madison Square Garden. The visitors from the US state of Georgia trailed by six points with ten seconds remaining, but forced overtime with a final three-pointer and three free throws. They were not able to hold on to their 148:147 lead shortly before the end. The away defeat ended a short run of three wins in a row for the Hawks.
Clint Capela made the trip to New York, raising hopes of a comeback. Before the start of the game, however, the Geneva native was reported as "inactive". As a result, the 30-year-old, who had initially been plagued by back problems, missed his team's last nine games.
Kyshawn George scored more than 10 points for the fourth time in a row for the Washington Wizards. The 21-year-old Walliser was one of his team's assets with 14 points and 9 rebounds. Nevertheless, the Wizards suffered their 45th defeat of the season in a 130-134 loss to the Indiana Pacers. With just nine wins, Washington remains the weakest team in the NBA.
