RB Leipzig have surprisingly signed Xavi Simons, who was courted throughout Europe, and made him the most expensive signing in the club's history.
The Dutchman, who was previously on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, signed a contract valid until the summer of 2027, as the Bundesliga club announced. According to media reports, the basic transfer fee is likely to be 50 million euros.
One of the East Germans' goals is to reach the Champions League again. If they fail to do so, Simons, who will turn 22 in April, could be sold at a high price in the summer.
