The Bernese were much better off with the one point: The home team was not only short of substitutes, but also played practically the entire second half short-handed after Armin Gigovic was sent off. Nevertheless, Basel rarely looked dangerous in front of goal and failed to celebrate an away win against YB for the first time since 2016.
Lucerne celebrated their first home win against Grasshoppers since April and inflicted a painful defeat on Zurich. The Central Swiss side laid the foundations for their success with three goals in the first half, before producing a real gala in the second half. Matteo Di Giusto was able to celebrate scoring twice.
