Young Boys are still on the rise in the Super League. The 1-0 home win against St. Gallen is their third victory in a row. Sion and Yverdon share the points.
The Bernese, who dominated the first half but had no clear goalscoring opportunities, took the first chance to take the lead in the second half. Substitute Darian Males set up Christian Fassnacht, who scored his fifth goal since returning to YB. The Swiss champions thus confirmed their upward trend and moved to within two points of leaders Servette for the time being.
There was no winner in Sion. The visitors from Yverdon took the lead through Marley Aké, while Sion's Kreshnik Hajrizi equalized with a header in the second half. In between, Antonio Marchesano missed a great opportunity to make it 2:0, but his penalty was clearly too high. With the points shared, Sion remain ninth and three points clear of their closest rivals Yverdon. However, the top half of the table remains a long way off for both teams.
