Young Boys record their fourth home win in a row with a 3-0 victory over Lausanne-Sport and move back into the Super League's top six at their opponents' expense.

Young Boys' upward trend under Giorgio Contini has a lot to do with the defensive stability they have found. Against Lausanne-Sport, the Bernese kept a clean sheet for the sixth time this season, the fifth time Contini, who only joined YB during the winter break, has been on the sidelines.

However, the new coach is also fortunate to be able to count on his fully fit defensive boss Loris Benito. After recovering from a torn cruciate ligament and a number of subsequent injuries, the 33-year-old captain exudes a sense of security that has an impact on the whole team.

The three goals were scored by Ebrima Colley and Chris Bedia. The former benefited from a mistake by Noë Dussenne, the Lausanne defender, to make it 1-0 shortly before the break. Bedia scored two goals in goal-scoring style after coming on as a substitute for the final half-hour, the first with a clearance and the second through good positioning.

YB's striker Cedric Itten, who had to make way for Bedia after an hour, remained without a goal and has now been waiting over three months for a goal. However, he justified his place in the starting line-up with a spectacular save on his own goal line shortly after the break and paved the way for a clear victory in front of almost 27,000 spectators in the Wankdorf.

Lausanne-Sport, who are no longer in the top 6 for the first time in several months after the defeat, had the chance to equalize before going 2-0 down. Jamie Roche, whose first shot was stopped by Itten, was unlucky again later on when he only hit the crossbar.
