There is a small merger at the top of the Super League. Following Thun's defeat against first-placed St. Gallen, YB and Basel are also closing the gap.

Basel moved just one point closer to the top of the table as they only managed a goalless draw at home against Lausanne-Sport. The Swiss champions, who were able to play for over half an hour with a single and double superiority at the very end, were too harmless around the penalty area. Xherdan Shaqiri only came on for FCB after an hour.

Young Boys did better and scored through Christian Fassnacht and Darian Males in their 2-0 home win against Luzern. Fassnacht scored his eleventh goal of the season in the 20th minute, making him the sole leader in the goalscoring charts. Males scored after just under an hour with a beautiful volley. YB are still five points behind cantonal rivals and leaders Thun, who lost 2-0 at home to St. Gallen on Saturday.

In the third game on Sunday, FC Lugano won 4-2 against Servette. The Ticino side took a decisive 3-0 lead after just 24 minutes with goals from Antonios Papadopoulos, Anto Grgic and Uran Bislimi. While Lugano can look to the future, Servette must look to the back of the table.

At the bottom of the table, bottom-placed Winterthur drew 2-2 at FC Zurich on Saturday to make up a point on penultimate-placed GC. FCW are still four points behind GC. Grasshoppers suffered their third consecutive 1-0 defeat at FC Sion.
