Yverdon lose the Vaud derby at Lausanne-Sport 1:3 in the 7th round of the Super League, setting a new negative record for Alessandro Mangiarratti's team.
A lightning start paved the way for Lausanne-Sport's victory. Less than two minutes had been played on the artificial turf at the Stade de la Tuilière when the home fans were able to cheer for the first time. Alvyn Sanchez scored after an assist from Alban Ajdini to give coach Ludovic Magnin's team an early 1-0 lead. Teddy Okou made it clear after just 20 minutes with a rehearsed corner variation.
Not much came together for the visitors from Lake Neuchâtel. Sanchez nipped a brief revival after the break in the bud with his second personal goal. The visitors did manage to score a consolation goal a quarter of an hour before the end thanks to a handball penalty from Marley Aké. However, this did not change the outcome of the game.
While Lausanne-Sport returned to winning ways after five league games without a win, Yverdon have been waiting for an away win since August 2023 or 21 games. There has never been a longer negative streak in the Super League.
