Michelle Gisin will be focusing on the giant slalom and speed disciplines in future. The athlete from Engelberg is ending her slalom career this Tuesday evening in Flachau after 103 races.

14.01.2025, 14:26"It's been more than twelve incredible years in the slalom World Cup and I've given it my all": these are the words in the video on the Swiss-Ski Instagram page in which Michelle Gisin explains her future retirement from the slalom.
In December 2012, Gisin competed in her first World Cup slalom in Semmering. Over 100 more races at the highest level were to follow by January 2025. The all-rounder stood on the podium nine times - with Semmering 2020 being her only top finish.
Last winter, the 31-year-old finished in the top 10 in nine out of eleven slalom races, which earned her fourth place in the discipline rankings. Her best result this season was a 19th place in Killington.
Gisin will compete in the last slalom of her career on Tuesday evening in Flachau. After that, she will concentrate on the other three disciplines.
