Latest news 16-year-old killed in skiing accident in Austria

A 16-year-old has died while skiing in Austria. According to the police, the young local had jumped over a crest on the slope of a ski area in Tennengau and had not noticed a skier in time who had fallen below. The 16-year-old wanted to avoid the man, went off the piste and fell in the open terrain. His upper body presumably collided with a frozen chunk of snow, said a police spokeswoman. The teenager was flown by rescue helicopter to a clinic, where he succumbed to his injuries.
