A minor has stored banned pyrotechnics at home in Valais. The cantonal police became aware of him because the 17-year-old Swiss boy had posted videos of explosions on a social network.

The videos showed explosions of banned or homemade firecrackers, as the Valais cantonal police announced on Tuesday. The police then carried out a house search on behalf of the juvenile court and discovered "a large stockpile" of pyrotechnic objects.

Some prohibited items were discovered in the victim's room and in the cellar of the house, according to the statement. The accused had manufactured or modified around a dozen of them himself.

In the statement, the police reminded the public that the handling and storage of pyrotechnic objects is dangerous. There is a risk of explosions, injuries and even death.
