Little choice for private investors: sustainable funds are still underrepresented in Switzerland. (Archive image)

There are currently 2325 mutual funds classified as sustainable available to Swiss private investors. This means they remain niche products, as a new study by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts shows.
Compared to the previous year, the number of sustainable funds on offer has grown by 7%, following growth of 16% and 45% respectively in the previous years. Compared to 2020, investors can now choose from three times as many products.
Nevertheless, "green" funds are still in the minority on the Swiss market. Around three quarters of the mutual funds on offer do not take sustainability aspects into account.
