A 56-year-old man fell off a path near Amden SG and plunged some 70 meters into the snow. According to the police, the man, who was injured for an undetermined length of time, was rescued by helicopter. He was flown to hospital.

Suddenly, he lost his footing and fell in the rough terrain. His companion remained unharmed. Specialists from the cantonal police's alpine task force are investigating the cause of the accident.
