This is the result of a joint announcement by Fenaco and the unions Syna and Unia on Wednesday. The minimum wage will rise by CHF 100 to CHF 4,100, and the starting wage after completing an apprenticeship will be increased to CHF 4,250 (EBA) or CHF 4,350 (EFZ).

Maternity leave will also be extended to 18 weeks and adoption leave to three weeks. The number of paid public holidays will increase from ten to eleven days, according to the press release. For employees aged 50 and over with at least ten years of service, a notice period of five months will now apply.

Fenaco employs around 11,000 people who work in food production, retail, energy and agriculture. Almost 6000 of them are covered by the collective labor agreement.
