A plane with 62 people on board has crashed in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. It is not yet officially clear how many people died in the crash in the city of Vinhedo. Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said at an event that all the occupants of the plane had apparently died.

The news portal "G1" reported, citing the city administration, that the plane had crashed in a residential area. The fire department also confirmed the crash. They are on site with seven rescue teams.
Hospitals in Vinhedo were preparing to receive the injured, as reported by "G1". In addition to the fire department, the civil defense and police were also deployed.

President Lula asked those present at the event in the south of Brazil to observe a minute's silence. "Very sad news. All my condolences to the families and friends of the victims," Lula announced on Platform X.
The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, said: "My solidarity goes out to all the victims and those affected by this tragedy." He promised to provide all necessary support and to publish all necessary information.
"There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board," the airline VoePass announced in an initial Instagram post about the accident.
According to the airline, 58 passengers and four crew members were on board the plane. According to media reports, the plane was traveling from the city of Cascavel in the state of Paraná towards Guarulhos in São Paulo. São Paulo-Guarulhos Airport is the largest airport in Brazil.
