A 98-year-old e-bike rider has died in hospital following a traffic accident in Rebstein. According to a statement from the St. Gallen cantonal police on Thursday, the public prosecutor's office has ordered an autopsy.
The accident occurred on May 28. At the time, the man was riding an e-bike on a cycle path, according to the police. At a junction, he collided with the vehicle of a 25-year-old driver. This caused the 98-year-old to fall. He was flown to hospital by helicopter.
