Order intake rose by a whopping 16 percent to 9.79 billion US dollars, as the provider of electrification and automation solutions announced on Thursday. Turnover developed somewhat more moderately: This increased by 8 percent to 8.90 billion US dollars; on a comparable basis, there was an increase of 6 percent here.

Operating profit rose slightly above average compared to turnover, and profitability also increased by a slight margin. The operating margin (EBITA) increased by 20 basis points to 19.2% and was therefore above the applicable target range of 16% to 19%.

Net profit improved by 5 percent to 1.15 billion US dollars. ABB thus exceeded analysts' expectations at all levels.

The previous forecasts for the full year 2025 are confirmed. Accordingly, the company is targeting sales growth in the mid-single-digit range and a higher margin than in the previous year (18.1%).

For the current third quarter, growth in comparable sales is expected to be at least in the mid-single-digit percentage range and the EBITA margin is expected to be higher than in the previous year.
