Founded in 1962 and based in Cazzago San Martino, Italy, OMC2 produces injection components for four-stroke engines, specializing in marine applications, stationary systems and locomotive engines, as Accelleron announced on Monday.
The company generated sales in the low double-digit million range in 2023 with around 70 employees. The transaction is expected to be completed at the beginning of the second half of 2024.
Accelleron believes that the acquisition will strengthen OMT's position "as an innovation leader in the development of injection systems for alternative fuels in large marine engines". It will also respond to the increasing demand for injection systems.
According to Accelleron, around half of the new ships ordered in 2023 will already be equipped with dual-fuel engines, which require increasingly complex injection systems.
OMT will take over OMC2 in full and retain all employees. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The acquisition will be financed from existing cash resources.
