The Federal Supreme Court is likely to uphold the appeal lodged by the Young Greens of St. Gallen against the addendum to the school contract with the girls' secondary school run by the St. Katharina convent in Wil. The final vote has not yet taken place.

At present, three judges have spoken out in favor of approval. In their opinion, the contract violates freedom of faith and conscience and the ban on discrimination.
They consider the Christian or Catholic orientation of the school to be problematic. The public school is bound by the principle of neutrality. The awarding of a public school service contract to a school with a clear religious orientation is therefore incompatible with various fundamental rights.
