The Federal Criminal Court has acquitted the Ivorian-Italian dual citizen of the charge of murdering a diplomat in 1995. However, it sentenced him to 15 years' imprisonment for multiple rapes and numerous other offenses.

The criminal court refrained from imposing a custodial sentence, but ordered him to be deported for 15 years. He must pay one of the rape victims CHF 15,000 in compensation and damages.

The girlfriend of the main defendant, who was charged with accessory to murder, was acquitted.
