Pro-Palestinian activists smeared the entrance to the building of Israel's permanent mission to the United Nations in Geneva with red paint on Thursday evening. Traffic was also blocked in front of the headquarters of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Around 200 people had gathered in front of the Israeli mission at 6.55 p.m., as Geneva police spokesman Alexandre Brahier told the Keystone-SDA news agency. Brahier was confirming a report in the "Tribune de Genève" newspaper.

The gathering then moved in the direction of Perle du Lac, where it broke up at around 8.00 pm. No arrests were made on the fringes of the unauthorized demonstration. Police and cleaners were still on site in the evening.
