Swiss and the social partners Kaufmännischer Verband Schweiz, VPOD-Luftverkehr and SEV-GATA announced after the conclusion of the wage negotiations on Wednesday that Swiss will generally increase the wage bill for ground staff by 1 percent from January 1, 2026, i.e. by at least CHF 60 for a 100 percent workload. In addition, individual wage adjustments of 0.5 percent will be made.

All ground staff covered by the CLA who are in an employment relationship that has not been terminated as of December 31, 2025 will benefit from the increase. The current CLA for Swiss ground staff runs until the end of 2026, after which it will be renegotiated.

In the press release, Michael Horvath, Head of Social Partnership at the Swiss Commercial Association, emphasizes the importance of employees for the economic success of Swiss. In the press release, he criticizes the Lufthansa subsidiary's efforts to "increase efficiency".

In the first nine months of 2025, Swiss generated a fifth less operating profit than in the same period of the previous year due to weaker demand and rising costs. Swiss and the social partners had negotiated a wage increase of two percent for the current year.
