Samsung Electronics posted an all-time record profit in the fourth quarter of last year. South Korea's largest company reported an operating profit of 20.1 trillion won (equivalent to around 11.8 billion euros) for the period from October to December 2025 in its latest financial figures - a threefold increase compared to the same period last year. At the same time, it is the largest quarterly profit Samsung has ever achieved in the company's history.

The figures also exceeded the market's already high expectations. A survey of economists conducted by South Korea's official news agency Yonhap had predicted a slightly lower operating profit.
The positive development for the semiconductor manufacturer is primarily based on the ongoing boom in artificial intelligence, which has driven up demand and prices for high-performance computer chips at a rapid pace. Samsung Electronics is one of the world's leading producers of computer chips.
