It is highly likely that the Swiss ambassador to the USA will officially represent Switzerland at the inauguration of future US President Donald Trump on January 20. However, invitations have not yet been sent out.

Traditionally, foreign ambassadors in Washington D.C. are invited to the inauguration of the new president, the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) announced on Wednesday at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency. Accordingly, Switzerland will probably be officially represented by Ambassador Ralf Heckner.
