Inflation in the USA remained stable in December. In a year-on-year comparison, consumer prices rose by 2.7 percent in December, as in November, according to the Department of Labor on Tuesday.

This means that inflation in the world's largest economy developed as expected by economists on average. In a monthly comparison, consumer prices in the USA rose by 0.3 percent. This was also expected.
Core inflation did not change either. This measure of inflation, which excludes volatile prices for energy and food, remained at 2.6% year-on-year in December.
