Northern Switzerland Another fire at plastics factory in Lenzburg AG

Following the major fire at a plastics factory in Lenzburg AG on Thursday morning, several fire departments had to respond to the plant again on Thursday evening. According to the police, there was another fire in the roof area of the factory. The fire departments quickly extinguished the fire.

The Aargau cantonal police announced on Friday that fire investigators were clarifying the circumstances of the new fire. Investigations into the cause of the major fire are also ongoing.

According to initial investigations, the major fire on Thursday shortly before 8 a.m. broke out in the area of a production machine, as reported by the cantonal police.

Special extinguishing agents such as foam and carbon dioxide (CO2) were used because it was not possible to extinguish the fire with water due to the initially unknown chemicals. The fires caused an unknown amount of property damage.

There were no injuries in either fire. Around 50 people were evacuated from the neighboring industrial buildings.
