The burglaries allegedly took place in December 2024 and February 2025 in the Lugano region. The burglaries in a residential building and a villa led to extensive investigations by the cantonal police and other police authorities in Switzerland and Europe, as reported by the Ticino cantonal police. Other people are believed to have been involved in the break-ins.

At the same time, the public prosecutor's office in Ticino issued an international arrest warrant. This led to the arrest of the man by the German police in Germany at the beginning of November. The man has been extradited in recent days and is now in custody in Ticino.

The main charges against the 25-year-old are qualified theft, damage to property and trespassing. The criminal investigation is continuing.
