Money from the Armed Forces Social Service (SDA) also went to military patients and surviving dependants, as the Armed Forces announced on Monday. In 2024, the SDA's telephone number received 3355 calls, compared to around 2900 in the previous year. In addition to providing intensive information, the SDA's social counselors processed a total of 1978 dossiers, slightly more than in 2023.
A key factor in the increase in advisory activities and expenditure was the high number of enlistments in recruit schools and better information about people who were injured or fell ill while on duty. Closing this information gap has led to increased demand, which is particularly evident in the expenditure of military patients, the report continued.
The financial resources for material aid come exclusively from grants from foundations and donations, the army wrote. The SDA supports relatives in the event of personal, professional or family difficulties, in emergency situations or as a result of accident or illness. It also helps relatives of military patients or surviving dependants of deceased soldiers.
