A man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after two ships collided off the English North Sea coast, resulting in one death. According to Humberside Police, a criminal investigation has been launched into the cause of the collision.

The accident occurred early on Monday morning near the mouth of the River Humber. The container ship "Solong" is said to have rammed into the tanker "Stena Immaculate". Both ships then caught fire. One crew member of the "Solong" was initially missing and, according to the British authorities, lost his life.
According to the police, the man arrested is 59 years old. They did not provide any further details. "Extensive measures have already been put in place and we are working closely with our partners to understand what has happened and to offer support to all those affected," said the lead investigating officer, Craig Nicholson, according to the statement.
