The Federal Roads Office (Astra) announced on Monday that the surfacing work on the fast lane had made good progress despite countless days of rain. 39 of a total of 79 stages have been completed. The "Astra Bridge" started its return journey in stages on Friday to repair the normal lane.
The Astra stated that the construction site did not affect driving behavior or the flow of traffic on the opposite carriageway. The quality of the surfacing work met the contractual standard. The "Astra Bridge" will therefore remain in use until the end of August.
The road surface under the "Astra Bridge" will be renewed and traffic will continue to flow over the bridge. The permitted speed is 60 kilometers per hour. The mobile bridge was optimized for its second use.
The access and exit ramps were made significantly flatter. The prestige project of the Federal Roads Office cost around 26 million Swiss francs
