Two other people, who have already been located but are still under the rubble, are also presumed dead according to the authorities, South Korea's official Yonhap news agency reported. Two missing people are still being sought.

The approximately 60-metre-high boiler tower collapsed on Thursday during demolition work. According to Yonhap, construction workers had previously cut through several of the building's steel supports to facilitate the planned demolition. The tower was decommissioned in 2021 after four decades of operation.
