There is also said to have been a police operation there as a result. The Munich police confirmed an operation in Grünwald, without giving any background information. There were no indications of any outside culpability.

Alice and Ellen Kessler were among the most successful German entertainers. The identical twins performed on stage for more than 60 years, with Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire and Harry Belafonte, among others. The sisters were particularly celebrated in the USA, France and Italy. At the age of 80, they were still on stage for the Udo Jürgens musical "Ich war noch niemals in New York".

They learned to dance as little girls and were drilled by their father. They soon joined the children's ballet at the Leipzig Opera and were accepted into the opera dance school. In 1952, at the age of 16, they fled to the West and came to Düsseldorf. In order to be independent and financially self-sufficient, they danced in a revue theater.

There, in 1955, the director of the Lido in Paris became aware of the blonde young women. He hired them for the famous variety show on the Champs-Élysées - and their international career took off.

In the end, the two sisters retired from show business and lived in Grünwald in the south of Munich.
