Following fierce international criticism, Elon Musk's AI company xAI has introduced new restrictions for lewd AI images on its chatbot Grok. "Technological measures" are intended to prevent the editing of images of real people wearing light clothing such as bikinis.

This restriction applies to both free accounts and paying users, according to the online platform X, which belongs to xAI.

In regions where this is illegal, geoblocking also prevents artificial intelligence from generating images of real people in bikinis, lingerie or similar clothing. In principle, only paying customers will be able to create or edit images with Grok at X in future.

Grok is Musk's AI chatbot, which is intended to compete with the pioneer ChatGPT from developer OpenAI, among others. In recent days, Musk and xAI have come under fire because users were able to use Grok to replace women's clothing with bikinis, for example. Authorities launched an investigation.
