The SVP Baselland has submitted its initiative for a tax deduction for health insurance premiums.

On Wednesday, the SVP Baselland submitted its formulated legislative initiative "Premium deduction for all" to the state chancellery in Liestal. This initiative demands that self-paid premiums for compulsory health insurance be fully deductible from taxable income.
To this end, the SVP is calling for a corresponding amendment to the tax law that also includes health insurance premiums in the deductions. This should reduce the burden on all taxpayers. Among others, the middle class, which does not receive a premium reduction, and to a lesser extent families entitled to reductions, should be able to benefit from this, the party wrote in a press release.
