The Bern cantonal police have concluded investigations into a case involving online drug trafficking worth millions. Two suspected drug platform operators, a supplier and five couriers have to answer to the courts.

The suspects operated the Telegram drug stores "Heisenberg's Apotheke" and "Candy Shop by Vespair" between 2022 and 2023, as reported by the Bern cantonal police on Thursday. They sold numerous narcotics and prescription drugs.

The operators used various couriers who delivered the ordered products to over a thousand drug customers in Switzerland and abroad via the post. Payment was made using cryptocurrency.

During house searches, the police seized several kilograms of narcotics and medicines as well as cryptocurrencies worth around 150,000 Swiss francs, the press release continued. The investigation also revealed that the perpetrators generated a total turnover of at least 960,000 Swiss francs with their business.

Investigations have been ongoing since 2022

According to the press release, the suspected platform operators are aged 28 and 33. In addition, there is a suspected 37-year-old drug supplier and five suspected drug couriers: three men aged 29, 31 and 39 and two women aged 34 and 37.

Investigations in connection with the case have been ongoing since 2022. The first suspects were stopped at the time and some were remanded in custody. In April 2024, a suspected drug supplier was finally extradited to Switzerland and arrested in the canton of Bern. According to the press release, the police forces of the cantons of Zurich, Lucerne and Vaud and the Federal Criminal Police were also involved.
