Italian camping tourism is booming and generates an annual turnover of eight billion euros. Guests from Germany, Austria and the Netherlands are the main contributors to this success.

They make up the largest number of foreign tourists at Italian campsites. This is according to data from the "Faita Federcamping" association, the most important Italian industry association for outdoor tourism.
"The upswing and records of the last three years in open-air tourism are consolidating. After a strong year in 2024, outdoor tourism remains the second most important form of accommodation for vacationers - just behind hotels," said the President of Faita Federcamping, Alberto Granzotto, at the "Forum Open Air" in Rome to the news agency APA.
