A 20-year-old female driver left the road in Hunzenschwil AG on Tuesday - and crashed her car down the steps of an underpass. The woman escaped without serious injuries.

She had to be taken to hospital. Shortly before 6 p.m., the woman first drove her small car over the sidewalk and forecourt and then hit the exit to the pedestrian underpass, as the cantonal police reported on Wednesday. The car tumbled down the stairs and crashed heavily into the concrete wall.
Thanks to fortunate circumstances, there were no pedestrians in the danger zone at the crucial moment, the cantonal police wrote. The car is wrecked. The 20-year-old had to temporarily surrender her probationary driver's license.
