One person is dead and another is in mortal danger after a car allegedly drove into a group of people in the Australian metropolis of Melbourne. According to the local police, the car drove onto a sidewalk shortly after 5 p.m. (local time) and hit the two pedestrians. The as yet unidentified person died at the scene of the accident, while the other was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. One man has been arrested and is being questioned. The exact circumstances are still unclear and the investigation is ongoing.
