Three young people die in a serious traffic accident in the south of Saxony-Anhalt.

On Monday night, a car left the road in the south of Saxony-Anhalt, killing three young people. Alcohol was also involved.
On the morning of the accident, red stripes on the wet asphalt indicate where the car left the road in the sharp right-hand bend and plunged down the slope. The force of the impact can be seen above all at the height of the car's rear seat: The roof is completely caved in. Two 19-year-old women and a 21-year-old man who died in the accident were sitting there.
According to the police, the accident occurred shortly after two o'clock on Monday night on country road 204 between Naumburg and Schönburg. The road here runs along the Saale river. A 43-year-old man was at the wheel. He suffered minor injuries, as did the 18-year-old female passenger. The three young adults who died in the accident succumbed to their serious injuries at the scene, said a police spokesman.
The investigation is now focusing on the driver of the black car involved in the accident. A police spokesman explained that police officers had found evidence at the scene that pointed to alcohol consumption. A blood sample was taken from the driver. A police spokesperson toldBildthat a blood alcohol level of 1.3 per mille was measured.
There was initially no further information on the exact course of the accident or the possible cause of the accident. According to the current state of knowledge, no other vehicle was involved. According to media reports, the car occupants were coming from a town festival in Naumburg.
According to the Wethautal volunteer fire department, several fire departments and five ambulances were involved in the operation. The people trapped in the back seat were freed from the vehicle using rescue equipment. However, only their deaths could be determined.
Highway 204 remained closed for hours. A towing company recovered the accident vehicle and a specialist company cleaned the scene of the accident.
